Facebook is pondering whether to introduce a video advertisement platform in users’ feeds. The ads are rumored to begin immediately when the page loads and may even contain audio.
Facebook is looking into ways to increase its advertisement income and may settle on a video advertisement platform. Videos would immediately start when the user sees them in the browser. Execs are also looking into the possibility of adding audio in the video by default. Instant audio on websites is generally regarded as bad practice and caused Flash a bad rep they introduced it many years ago.
Advertisers can made any video of 15 seconds and see them appear on users’ feeds all over the world. Unlike today’s sponsored messages, advertisement may appear even if the user or its friends have never liked the advertiser before. Currently you only see ads by companies who are liked within your group of friends.
Facebook is rumored to make a decision before April next year.
